BIKE RIDING TO THE DISCOVERY OF LAKES, HILLS AND OF AN ANCIENT OPEN CAST GOLD MINE

5 Days / 4 nights

 - Day one: arrival in hotel/B&B in Biella or neighbourhood. Dinner

- Day two: Biella to the Viverone Lake. Breakfast. Meeting with our staff for the presentation of the tour, departure. The tour will take you from your hotel to the agricultural area of Cavaglià, where you’ll have lunch at a typical country restaurant where dishes are prepared with their own production of vegetables/meats. In the afternoon you can relax, wander along the country roads nearby, and reach your guesthouse or B&B in Cavaglià or Viverone (just a few miles away). Before dinner, you can visit a local wine producer where you’ll be explained the characteristics of the local wines and offered to taste some. Dinner. The ride, of some 20 km., will be run almost entirely on paved roads through villages and fields, with no significant inclination.

- Day three: breakfast. Departure for the tour of the lake: a circular tour of the Viverone Lake that, after taking you on top of the hills facing the lake, will let you go down to a nice valley where you’ll really feel completely cut out from the rest of the world, and then through a woodland. Reaching the village of Azeglio, you’ll go back to paved roads and ascend to another nice, but very small lake on top of another hill. For this tour we will provide you with a packet lunch, for maximum freedom. Return to your accommodation in Cavaglià or Viverone. Dinner.

- Day four: breakfast. Departure for a tour that will take you first to the unique Natural Reserve of Bessa (a lunar landscape transformed at Roman time by the work of thousands of men in the largest open-cast gold mine in the world), and then, after lunch, back to Biella, riding in a hilly and then level area. Lunch at a local country restaurant. Night at a hotel or B&B in Biella or neighbourhood. Dinner.

- Day five: breakfast. Day free in Biella to go shopping, visit the town, the ancient town, the “Ricetto of Candelo”, the marian mount sanctuary of Oropa, etc. (we’ll provide you with some suggestions if you like).
